Anchorage, Alaska 1 June 2010 –  Today at 11:00 a.m. Scott McAdams, Mayor of Sitka and long time Alaskan, will be announcing his candidacy for the United States Senate at the Division of Elections.

As an Alaskan Mayor and former school board president Scott is a well established Alaskan leader who has been working hard for Alaskans for years.  Scott has served his community in various different ways:

• Alaska Humanities Forum Board member
• Alaska Municipal League Region 1 Director
• Association of Alaska School Boards President
• School Board Member

A former deckhand in Alaska's commercial fishing sector, Scott understands the struggles of every day Alaskan families and is eager to be a voice on their behalf.  Scott looks forward to talking to Alaskans all across the state in the coming weeks and months ahead as he works to bring a new vision to Washington D.C.
