Jay Parmley - Executive Director

 A native of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Jay brings over a decade of experience in state Democratic party leadership.  From 2001- 2005, Parmley was the Chairman of the Oklahoma Democratic Party.  At the time of his election, he was the nation’s youngest chairman of a State Democratic Party.  During his chairmanship, he also served Oklahoma Democrats in the dual role as Executive Director. Jay has also served as the Executive Director of the North Carolina and South Carolina Democratic Parties. From 2005-2008, Parmley worked for the Democratic National Committee (DNC), first in Mississippi before moving to South Carolina as part of DNC Chair Howard Dean's 50 state strategy.  From 1999-2001, he served as President of the Young Democrats of America. Parmley also served as an At-Large member of the DNC and a member of the DNC Budget and Finance Committee from 2005-2009.  In 2016, Jay directed the Alaska Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign working with legislative candidates and campaign staff and is pleased the Alaska House of Representatives is now Democratic-led for the first time in over 20 years.


Matt Greene - Data Director

Matt Greene joined the Alaska Democratic Party in 2014 and has extensive experience in field and data work. In 2008 and 2010 he was a regional field director for Idaho Democratic Congressman, Walt Minnick. In 2012 he served as political director for the Idaho Democratic Party. In 2013 he ran large field operations in Colorado. Prior to moving to Alaska Matt was the campaign manager for Idaho Representative John McCrostie.  



Jeanne Devon- Communications Director

Jeanne Devon is a NY Times best-selling author (The Blood of Patriots, Blind Allegiance), award-winning Alaska and national blogger (The Mudflats), and political commentator. She served as Press Secretary for the Alaska Senate Democrats from 2015-2017. Jeanne was born in New Jersey, and has lived in Alaska for almost 30 years. She graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in Psychology, and has also studied at UAA.




Helen Strain- Campaign Services Director

Helen Strain has worked in progressive organizations and politics for over 30 years. With Planned Parenthood NF as the VP of External Affairs and the Florida Association of Planned Parenthood’s Field Organizer, Helen developed and implemented public policy and advocacy programs and organized community and statewide coalitions as well as developing 501 C3 and C4 electoral campaigns.

In her work as a Campaign Manager and Consultant, she was the House Victory 2000 Regional Manager for North Florida managing 23 House campaigns, Field Director for Janet Reno for Governor’s campaign, Field Manager for the Angela Alioto for San Francisco Mayor and Sue Thorn for Congress in West Virginia, and Campaign Manager for Dave Aronberg for State Senate. She has worked on a host of city and county elections.

She was on the campaign team for Vote No on 1 Equality is Gainesville’s Business – the campaign that soundly defeated a proposition that would have removed gender identity and sexual orientation from the Gainesville City Charter.

During the 2016 Presidential Campaign, Helen served as the SC Training Director, ID Caucus Director, AK Caucus staff, WV State Director, KY and CA GOTV staff for Bernie Sanders’ Presidential Campaign.

She also served as MoveOn.org’s Florida State Director for its United against Hate Campaign to elect Hillary Clinton.

As the Program Manager for The Clinton Group, Inc. she developed 100’s of candidate/issue phone campaigns throughout the US.

For 14 years Helen trained activists and candidates in field programs with Democracy for America all over the US.

She has served as Vice Chair of Florida Democratic Party and as a DNC member.
