The position will be full-time - 40 hours/week – for 10 weeks during the months of June-August. Scheduling of hours is negotiable; work time will include some evenings and weekends. (When applying, please specify your preferred work schedule).

The following qualifications are required:

1. Strong computer and Internet skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email and Internet-search programs;
2. Excellent writing and oral communication skills;
3. Demonstrated commitment to the principles of the Alaska Democratic Party (or
the Democratic Party in another state);
4. Ability to work well with others;
5. Willingness to take direction and do whatever needs to be done.

Knowledge of Alaska politics is desirable.

Duties:
The Intern’s duties will be defined depending on the person’s skills and experience, and may include:
1) Research
2) Media monitoring
3) Assisting with meeting coordination and execution
4) Writing various communications
5) Assisting with volunteer scheduling and support
6) Calling voters
7) Answering the phone and greeting guests in the office
8) Copying and assembling materials for distribution
10) Assisting with fund raising logistics
11) Assisting other staff
12) Running errands
13) Assisting with strategy development
14) Other duties as assigned
