Kay Brown / Executive Director
Since coming to Alaska in 1976, Kay has served as a journalist, an editor, a co-owner of a newspaper (the Alaska Advocate), a legislative policy analyst, a Special Assistant to the Commissioner of DNR, the Director of the Division of Minerals & Energy Management, the Director of the Division of Oil and Gas, an elected official for 10 years (the Alaska State House of Representatives), a radio talk show host, an executive director, the Alaska Democratic Party Communications Director, the head of the Alaska Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign, and a communications consultant and small business owner.
Leonard Lawson / Technology And Political Director
Born in Greensboro, NC, Leonard Lawson's first political campaign was as a volunteer knocking on doors for Gore in 2000. Since then he has worked in three states and for campaigns at every level from County Register of Deeds to Senator Hillary Clinton's Presidential Campaign in 2008. After the Democratic Primary, Leonard came to Alaska and worked as the Deputy Voterfile Manager for the rest of the 2008 cycle. In 2009, he was hired as State Voterfile manager for the Vermont Democratic Party and organized their 2009 party caucuses. At the beginning of 2010, Leonard returned to Alaska as the State Party's full time Voter File Manager. In the off-season, he can be found Alaska's beautiful trails hiking and camping around the state.
David Bremer / Communications Director
David Came to the Alaska Democratic Party after working for Rep. Pete Petersen (D-Anchorage) during the 2011 legislative session. Originally from Olympia, WA, David has worked on numerous campaigns and for both the Washington State and Alaska House of Representatives. He was also an Executive Board member for the Thurston County Democrats and chaired their Campaign Services Committee until moving to Alaska. David received his BA in Political Science from Western Washington University in 2006.
